LEGAL
Terms of Service
Last updated: May 1, 2025
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service govern access to InkWell subscriptions and the public website. By beginning a subscription or trial, you agree to use the service lawfully and to provide accurate information needed to operate the account. The terms apply to the software functions made available under the plan selected at checkout and to reasonable use of the associated account controls.
2. Subscription billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly. Your subscription renews automatically every month unless you cancel in your account settings. There is no cancellation fee, and a normal cancellation prevents the next renewal while access remains available through the current paid period. The 14-day free trial requires no credit card, and nothing is charged during the trial. Plans may have different limits, document allowances, AI rewrite counts, checks, and collaboration seats.
3. Demo checkout and delivery
The checkout included with this static website is a demonstration flow and does not create a real payment charge. In a production deployment, payment processing would be connected to an applicable payment provider. The fixed digital delivery wording is Instant delivery — activation code by email. The service does not include physical merchandise, shipping logistics, inventory tracking, weight fields, or a delivery-address form.
4. Acceptable use
You may use InkWell for lawful writing, editing, research, publishing, and collaborative work. You may not use the service to facilitate fraud, unlawful impersonation, abuse of access controls, malicious activity, or attempts to evade academic or publishing safeguards. AI rewriting is an editing aid. It is not intended to help a user disguise copied material, conceal unattributed sources, or bypass plagiarism detectors. You remain responsible for the final content you submit or publish.
5. Ownership and responsibility
You retain full ownership of the material you create with InkWell. You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, permissions, citations, and publication decisions connected to your work. InkWell does not acquire ownership of your manuscripts simply because the software stores or processes text while delivering an enabled feature. You should also keep independent copies of valuable work and verify automated suggestions before relying on them.
6. Refunds
A full refund is available within 30 days of any payment, subject to the published Refund Policy. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5-7 business days. A refund request does not automatically cancel a future renewal, so a subscriber who does not want another billing event should use the account cancellation control as well.
7. Availability and changes
InkWell features, plan limits, supported file formats, and integrations may change over time. Where appropriate, material changes will be communicated through the service or an updated public document. The service may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, provider outages, connectivity problems, security events, or circumstances outside reasonable control.
8. Suspension and termination
A subscriber may stop using the service and cancel through available account controls. InkWell may suspend access when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, non-payment, or a material violation of these terms. When circumstances permit, the service may provide a notice or a path for resolving the issue before access remains suspended.
